A brand new online Arts & Crafts auction will offer a selection of Arts and Crafts era metalwork, lighting, pottery, artwork and textiles this upcoming November 10th at 9 AM Pacific/Noon Eastern.

The United Crafts Arts & Crafts/20th Century Decorative Arts auction has released their 175-lot catalog on the popular website LiveAuctioneers.com, offering works by Dirk Van Erp, Gustav Stickley, Heintz Art Metal, Stickley Brothers, Rookwood, ET Hurley, Tiffany Studios, Arequipa pottery, Roycroft, Newcomb College, Jarvie, Fulper and more. The group known as United Crafts, a collective of three collectors and dealers in the Arts and Crafts era and early 20th century Decorative Arts, specialize in and have collected metalwork, lighting, furniture and pottery for over 25 years each.

Betting on the renewed energy and interest from new collectors in the history and the objects of the movement, United Crafts are excited to offer a number of unique benefits within in their first of their online auctions.

“We are offering the lowest buyer’s premium in the market at 20% inclusive of the LiveAuctioneers percentage, 10% less than most major auction houses,” says Bryan Mead of Hammered & Hewn, who runs the California leg of United Crafts. “We are offering in-house flat rate shipping on every lot where shipping charges will be included on initial invoices and items will ship quickly.” Mead also revealed all lots are unreserved, explaining that the opening bid could win the lot.

United Crafts plans to continue the online auction offerings each spring and fall. “The first auction sets the stage for us to start discussing consignments with collectors looking to move a few things or entire collections,” says Ron Ciarmello of Stickley Copper in Pennsylvania. With Mead in California, Ciarmello in Pennsylvania, and Jason Krohn of Jason Krohn Antiques in Michigan, the trio say they are always available to be in touch with collectors from across the country who are interested in discussing consignments and competitive seller rates.

Dirk Van Erp cratered copper vase

  • Made in San Francisco circa 1915
  • Signed with open box and impressed San Fransisco, these possibly made for the 1915 Worlds Fair.
  • Measures 5″ tall and 5.5″ wide.
estimate: $6,000-$8,000
An extremely rare cratered vase, one of only a handful known to exist. As opposed to the rare warty vases which are hammered out from the inside, this vase is part of a small line of experimental vases where the body was cratered and curtained, creating a very modern and unique surface.

E.T. Hurley bronze doorstop

  • Cincinnati OH dated 1925.
  • A large cast bronze doorstop, body of a mythical dolphin flanked by two jumping dolphins.
  • Original dark green patina, signed ETH on lower front edge as well as his full script signature and date on reverse.
  • Measures 17″ tall, 9.5″ wide and 5″ deep.

One of only two known door stops from E.T. Hurley

 Arthur Wesley Dow Ipswich Prints Booklet

  • Ipswich MA dated 1902.
  • A very rare and mint Arts & Crafts booklet with original printed wrappers, includes all six “Sketches reproduced from the Japanese” and printed by Dow in 1902.
  • All prints include his orange chop mark.
  • Measures 10″ by 8.5″

Estimates: $2,000-$3,000

 Tiffany Studios Zodiac Candlesticks

  • Made in New York circa 1910.
  • A rare pair of bronze candlesticks in the Zodiac pattern.
  • Original bobeches, mint patina and finish. Signed on bottom.
  • Measures 5.75″ tall by 3.75″ wide.

Pair or Heintz Art Metal Shops poppy boudoir lamps

  • Pair, Heintz Art Metal Shops poppy boudoir lamps in bronze with sterling silver overlay and original matching cutout shades.
  • Buffalo, NY. Circa 1916.
  • Discovered together in an old New York estate.
  • Each retains its original green variegated patina in excellent condition
  • original socket and pull-chain.
  • Both professionally rewired using correct period-style cloth covered cords.
  • Each marked with original paper label to underside of maroon felted base. 
  • Measures 10” x 8.5”.
