“We believe the Arts and Crafts Movement is having a renewed energy today as we see new collectors excited by the history & objects.” – Bryan Mead of Hammered & Hewn
United Crafts, the small group of three experienced collectors spread throughout the country, will kick off the first of their 2024 online auctions on June 1st with a boutique auction of early 20th Century Decorative Arts objects by the iconic artists of the Arts and Crafts Movement, including Roycroft, Marblehead, Jarvie, Fulper, Newcomb College, Heintz Art Metal, Stickley Brothers, Rookwood, Tiffany Studios, Gustav Stickley, and Dirk Van Erp.
On Saturday, June 1st at 9am Pacific/Noon Eastern, exclusively on LiveAuctioneers, the Early 20th Century Decorative Arts auction will offer a curated selection of ceramic, metalwork, textiles, art and and a number of smaller antiques – and offering a number of benefits in addition for bidders. “We have three things we feel that set us apart in the current marketplace…we are offering the lowest buyers premium in the market at 20% inclusive of the LiveAuctioneers percentage, 10% less than most major auction houses,” says Bryan Mead of Hammered & Hewn in Pasadena, CA. “We are offering in-house flat rate shipping on every lot where the shipping charges will be included on initial invoices and items will ship quickly. We also are offering all lots without a reserve, so the opening bid could win the lot.”
While the online auction on June 1st will be the first 2024 auction that United Crafts offers, this won’t be the only auction. “This will be our first 2024 sale and we plan to run these every spring and fall. People really love our personal service and direct connection, without a need to find a shipper and pay exorbitant fees just to get your items.”
Mead, along with Ron Ciarmello of Stickley Copper and Jason Krohn of Jason Krohn Antiques, created the collective to serve the Arts & Crafts collector community across the country and bring their over 25 years each of collectors experience to the job, focused on metalwork, lighting, furniture and pottery. “We believe the Arts and Crafts Movement is having a renewed energy today as we see new collectors excited by the history & objects.”
