The more you appreciate what you collect.
In 2004, I founded the non-profit Arts and Crafts Research Fund to defray some of the financial challenges that writers and non-profit organizations encounter as they research Arts and Crafts firms and history.
For our funding, the ACRF has always depended on the silent auction held each February at the National Arts and Crafts Conference at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.
And on you — to pull from your shelves, your closets, and those boxes you haven’t opened for years an item, such as a vase, a piece of hammered copper, or a print, to donate to the non-profit ACRF for our February 20th – 22nd silent auction.
How has the ACRF helped you?
If you are a collector, you most likely have benefited from the dozens of seminars, displays, documentaries, and books we have funded on Gustav Stickley, Charles Limbert, the Roycrofters, Grueby Pottery, Roseville, Dirk van Erp, Stickley Brothers, Old Hickory, Fulper, Shop of the Crafters, textiles, wallpapers, Frank Lloyd Wright, jewelry, and the Arts and Crafts Revival, just to name a few.
If you are a dealer, you have learned that an educated collector is a better client. The more they know, the more they will improve their collection.
If you are a traveler, the ACRF has supported education projects at Craftsman Farms, the Roycroft Campus Museum, the Rose Valley Museum, and the Gustav Stickley House in Syracuse, to name a few non-profit recipients.
You have also helped fund film documentaries on Gustav Stickley and Elbert Hubbard.
To show your support for Arts and Crafts research, please send me an email letting me know what you would like to donate for next month’s silent auction. If sending a donation check is easier, our mailing address is below.
From everyone, many thanks for your continued support of the Arts and Crafts Revival and the Arts and Crafts Research Fund.
