21st Century Frank Lloyd Wright

Pack your virtual suitcase, y’all! Frank Lloyd Wright just entered the 21st century with the Wright Society Virtual Summit dubbed, ‘Starting Wright’, March 25th-26th, 2015. This event is the first of its kind — an opportunity for 1000+ geographically dispersed Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts to gather online and conveniently watch daily expert interviews over the course of two days with well-known scholars. Best part? It’s free!

The theme of this first virtual summit is STARTING WRIGHT and will explore Wright’s early roots to gain a deeper understanding of his design genius.

Day One

Tim Samuelson Cultural Historian for the City of Chicago will be speaking on Wright’s early years in Chicago and his connection to this iconic architectural mecca.

Margo Stipe Curator and Registrar of Collections for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation will be taking a look at early Wright interiors plus how and why Japanese art prints were so important to him.

Day Two

Pauline Saliga Executive Director of the Society of Architectural Historians will be answering the decades old question, “Was it Sullivan or Wright who had the most design influence over the Charnley-Persky house?”

Sidney Robinson, Professor of Architecture Emeritus at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture will be speaking on how music, nature, and art inspired Wright’s early design development and philosophy.

John Eifler, Restoration Expert and Architect with Eifler & Associates will be sharing insights into Wright’s early designs after restoring over 24
spanning his career.
