Lights, Camera, AUCTION!

All of the snow has melted here in Asheville and we’re gearing up for a productive Spring. On our list of things to do: highlight some of the finest Arts and Crafts auctions in the country for you, our lovely readers!

First up, Treadway/Toomey’s 20th Century Art & Design Auction in Oak Park, Illinois this coming Saturday, March 7th. Check out some of the lots we’re highlighting below!

Lighting is taking center stage with some fine examples from Handel, van Erp and more. Featured lighting lots include:

Lot #6 The Roycrofters Dard Hunter table lamp, East Aurora, NY, copper, glass, signed with an orb, 18.5″dia x 22″h $12,000-$15,000 (top photo).

Lot #199 Dirk van Erp (1860-1933), table lamp, San Francisco, CA, hand-hammered copper, mica, closed box mark, shade: 20″dia; overall:21″h $8,000 – $12,000.

Lot #251 The Handel Lamp Company, Mosserine desk lamp, Meriden, CT, bronze, painted glass, signed with cloth label, 12.5″w x 11″d x 14″h $1,000 – $1,500 (bottom photo).
