Lend Your Online Support: Woodblock Prints, Textiles, Copper Gifts

We at ArtsandCraftsCollector.com recognize that due to the changing landscape, collectors have grown confident and comfortable by buying pieces online that in the past they might have only bought in person at a gallery or shows. The transition into online purchase has surpassed its rare status into the norm; in the spring of 2019, a US Department of Commerce report showed the total market share of online U.S. retail sales was higher than general in-store sales for the first time in history, aided by the ease and usability of the online shopping environment and a growing number of financially-empowered tech-savvy buyers. A year later, due to orders to stay home to avoid the spread of COVID-19, sales are increasing online more than ever.

Towards that end, we are listing below some of the exhibitors and advertisers at the National Arts and Crafts Conference and Shows and we encourage you not only to visit their online salesroom, but to establish a relationship with them, which will carry over into next year’s National Arts and Crafts Shows at the Grove Park Inn. We are publishing a series of these articles in the oncoming weeks and will continue to highlight small businesses, non-profit organizations, and historic sites in this time of need.

Steven Thomas, Inc. – Fine Arts and Antiques

Owners: Steven Thomas and Deborah Bassett

http://www.woodblock-prints.com/artscrafts

We have been in business since 1980, dealing in antiques and fine art. Woodblock prints have always been an attraction, and in 1986 we acquired a large selection of works by Margaret Jordan Patterson (Amer. 1867- 1950) and later that year held the first catalogued retrospective of her work. We have issued fine print and painting catalogs yearly since then, with an emphasis on the woodblock medium. In 1987 we were fortunate enough to acquire a large collections of original Provincetown printing blocks and prints by then forgotten artist Ora Inge Maxim.
