George Edgar Ohr was an American ceramic artist who created innovative clay forms from pure organic local clay from 1880 to 1910. He proclaimed himself the “Mad Potter of Biloxi” in Mississippi. He is considered a precursor to the American Abstract-Expressionism movement and has since been an inspiration to many modern day ceramic artists.
