This article has been updated at 4:29 EST to reflect up-to-date realized prices of highlighted items below.

On Sunday, March 10th, Toomey & Co Auctioneers held their Art & Design auction, which featured treasures from L. & J.G. Stickley, Gustav Stickley, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Teco Pottery, Charles P. Limbert Co, The Kalo Shop, Prairie School style furniture, Rookwood Pottery and others of the Arts and Crafts Movement as well as art and home design from more modern eras.

Furniture from Stickley, Limbert, and Prairie School sold quite well, many items sold well and beyond the high estimate. An unsigned library table out of Eastwood, New York – its high estimate at $800 – sold for $2,125. In some cases, lighting and pottery fared well additionally selling past their high estimate. A Tiffany Studios Acorn table lamp sold for $16,250, $7,250 more than its high estimate. A George Ohr vase sold for $3,250 – $1,250 more than its high estimate – and the same happened for an American Beauty vase by the Roycrofters. A Stickley Table Lamp sold at $4,225 – $1,225 past its high estimate and a lamp base from the Weller Pottery Company sold for $1,820 — more than $1,200 past the high estimate of $600.

The Art & Design auction serves as the first Toomey & Co. Auctioneers auction of the new year. Previously, they held a dual auction last year on December 2nd – both an Art & Design auction and the Tradition & Innovation auction, in which a Greene & Greene table from Pasadena, California sold at $100,000.00.

Toomey & Co Auctioneer’s next Art & Design Auction will take place on June 9th.
