Treadway Gallery’s Art & Design Winter 2021 Preview

The 2021 auction season has started and with another auction with Arts and Crafts offerings on the horizon in February, collectors of all levels can expect to not only immerse themselves in a study of the historic style starting next month with the National Arts and Crafts Conference first-ever virtual conference, they can bid for works from impressive collections.
Treadway Gallery will open their auction sesason with their first auction of 2021 on Sunday, February 7th. The Art and Design sale will offer both American and European works from collections like the enamel collection of Ralph and Terry Kovel of Cleveland, Ohio and includes works by Gertrude Twichell, Edward Winter, Leo Hendricken, Frank Marshall, Limoges, and other. A highlight in Arts and Crafts Furniture includes a Gustav Stickley bookcase.
Arts and Crafts lighting and furniture features a Gustav Stickley bookcase and umbrella stand, numerous Tiffany and Handel lamps from 3 collections. Decorative objects include pieces of Rookwood, Marblehead and Newcomb combined with modern examples by Natzler, Claude Conover and Rose Cabat.
Over 60 examples of American and European glass and ceramics include Galle, Burgun and Schverer, Lalique, Desiree Christian, Schneider, Loetz and Daum will be sold. A large Daum lamp will be offered along with a considerable collection of Loetz and Quezal silver overlay glass. Also from Cleveland we are offering some fine examples of French Art Nouveau furniture including pieces by Galle and Majorelle. This includes several inlaid tables as well as a nightstand, armoire, chair and bed.
