Executive Director Vonda Givens says of the virtual birthday celebration in the McGinn’s house is a special way to connect with the Stickley legacy in a home that perfectly represents his contributions. “Their home is lovely and the love they poured into its design, inside and out, is obvious in each detail! For them, the Stickley story is personal,” says Givens. “Members are sure to find a visit with them to be both unforgettable and inspiring. And for anyone who hasn’t become a Member yet, it will be worth the investment for the opportunity to attend.”
The legacy of Gustav Stickley, whose anniversary birthday is March 9th, comes to both large and small screens everywhere this month with the streaming of Gustav Stickley: American Craftsman, the first feature-length documentary on Stickley’s life and contributions to the Arts and Crafts movement. The documentary can be seen in selected theatres in addition to streaming services. When tickets are purchased through the Stickley Museum and the Gustav Stickley House Foundation, the proceeds are equally split between the two organizations.
The live birthday celebration is just the latest virtual event created during a month-long celebration of the legacy of the iconic Gustav Stickley through the Stickley Museum, which has developed a number of ways that cost $10 to participate in celebrating Stickley’s birthday. “We are celebrating Gustav Stickley’s birthday throughout the month and encouraging people to honor Gus’ legacy by spending $10 to support the museum. We offer a few suggestions of fun ways to do this and it has been exciting to see the responses.”

Outdoor Dance Performances at Taliesin West
