Fall Harvest Celebrations In The Arts & Crafts Style
by Kate Nixon
Welcome to Fall, collectors!
With the exhibition of the American Arts & Crafts Movement at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the year-long exhibition “Cottage Industry: The Val-Kill Furniture Shop” at the Met showing examples of Arts & Crafts furniture, and the five-floor expansion gaining steam at St. Petersburg’s Museum of the American Arts & Crafts Movement, this new chapter of the Arts and Crafts Movement’s revival enjoyed a boost during this special year in American history. The 250th anniversary year boosted travel and tourism and with the fall and winter holidays coming, there are plenty of Arts & Crafts events to attend to kick off your fall season.

One annual celebration that offers historic house tours, business tours, and the chance to hear new research is the Pasadena Heritage Craftsman week — eight days of experience in the architectural legacy and the modern artists and craftspeople who continue the legacy.
Step inside remarkable historic homes, explore iconic landmarks, go behind the scenes with master craftspeople, and discover the neighborhoods and stories that make Pasadena such a special place. This year’s lineup features rare access to the Duncan-Irwin House and Blacker House, behind-the-scenes experiences at Judson Studios, tours and conversations with skilled artisans, historic neighborhood walks, and special evening events—all designed to bring the Arts & Crafts movement to life.
