Maria Longworth Nichols Storer was the founder of Rookwood Pottery, an art pottery firm in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the first ever female business owner of a manufacturing firm. The manufacturing firm has held strong and still exists today, selling ceramic works and employing local artists to create handcrafted vases and other ceramic works.
