Notes: Old Hickory Chair Co., Martinsville, IN. 1899-1978, current. Prolific manufacturer of rustic furniture, endorsed by Limbert and Stickley; national distribution; Old Faithful Inn, Grand Canyon Hotel, Grove Park Inn. Until 1922 brand read “Old Hickory Chair Company, Martinsville, Ind.” After 1922 it read “Old Hickory Furniture Company, Martinsville, Ind.” Also used a paper label and in the mid-thirties a small brass tag known as the “Bruce Tag” with two digits indicating the year piece was made.
