Although the house, which was built in 1914, was a catalogue design by the Craftsman Bungalow Company, it was detailed by Proudfoot, Bird and Rawson, a well-known local architecture firm. Although it is in the Bungalow style, it shows its debt to Prairie School style, as well. Private Residence.
Opened in May of 1913 in Perry, Iowa, the Hotel Pattee was reopened in 1997 in a revival of the Arts & Crafts style. Embodying the small-town feel of Iowa, the hotel pays respects to its surroundings, incorporating local history into its 40 rooms and public areas.
