Johnson Wax Building

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1939, the SC Johnson Wax Administrative Building is a strong example of the abilities of its architect. Rather than windows, the building is encased in glass tubing and is supported by dendriform columns. Every last detail was approved by Wright, even the bricks in ‘Cherokee Red’. The research and development building was also designed by Wright and was completed in 1947. The bridge, which connects the R&D tower to the administrative building, is another design of Wright’s. Definitely a must see if you are in the Wisconsin area.
