The Rose Valley Museum & Historical Society
Perhaps the most famous of the utopian craft communities which sprang up during the Arts & Crafts era, Rose Valley (1901) was the manifestation of the dream of designer and architect Will Price. Price and influential friends purchased eighty acres of land near Media, Pennsylvania and began construction of homes and workshops for artists and artisans. While the Rose Valley experiment never achieved commercial success, many of the original buildings still remain, the majority of which are private residences.
